sony, good customer service??

I recently got spam from my old Sony rewards card. I guess it’s a good thing. They switched up their site so I had to make a new account in order to disable them emailing me. In the process, I realized I had a good amount of points left. I could get a couple of CD’s or some junk. I opted for 4 movie tickets.

Fast forward maybe a week, I get them in the mail. Wet. Yay post office. I was damp, so it must have happened a while beforehand. I figured, what the hell, a little wrinkly paper won’t hurt me. Well, I failed to think the bar codes for each ticket would be printed with what seems like an inkjet printer. That and it was all stuck together where the ink was rendering all but the top ticket useless (it was smeared, but possibly usable).

So I send an email to customer service, and they email me in a day to say I have to call a number. So far, I’m a little peeved, but mostly because I have no tickets. Anyway, I call up, 3 rings later Chris answers. He gets my order number, I tell him what happened, and about 3 minutes later, I hang up. They just sent me replacements.

I’m dumbfounded. Sadly, I’ve opted to go with a different rewards program because Sony sucks. I did a long time ago, but finally got around to switching the Sony one to a Chase Freedom (free $50 if I hold out until I hit $200 in rewards). My Citibank gas/grocery rewards card has fallen from 5% back in the day to 2%–LAME.
