media, pt2

Ok, my last post was yesterday at almost 2AM. The funny thing is when I woke up (at ~7AM…) I spent most of the morning watching The Guild. How I got there? I’m subscribed to Mahalo Daily and they were at Comic Con 2008 doing a little interview with Felicia Day. Wow, that’s quite a bit of links…

Anyway, she was promoting The Guild, and I remembered it was on something else before, and I never got around to watching it. I’m by no means a “hardcore” gamer (although, that term is a debate in itself) and never got into the WoW thing, but The Guild was hilarious. Corny, and the last episode was pushing it… but still hilarious.

Anyway, I’m posting this not only to promote it, but to add to the fact the mornings events really rolled into my whole desire to just do something. I went looking at past interviews she did, and on Epic Fu, she basically laid down to the effect, do what you like and they will come.

It’s a sign. HAHA… now I just have to figure it all out. And thanks for the comment Cali, whom would be a pioneer in this whole arena.

Oh, while I’m plugging things away, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog is a damn hoot. I’m not a musicals kind of person, but Joss Whedon, Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, Felicia Day… well worth the $4 on iTunes.

getting into media

I’ve always had an interest in media. Specifically photography and video. Ok, so that’s a little broad I guess. I like to capture moments in photography–like when someone is about to head plant, or when a baby has a cheerio on her cheek. Or simply something off the wall and strange. On the video side, it’s actually more of being on camera. Which is a strange phenomenon really, given how I usually am. I have no idea what to do… but these video blogs that have become popular have intrigued me.

A stranger phenomenon is how these video bloggers have become widespread. I’m sure they are few out of thousands, but they had to start somewhere. Two in particular are geekbrief and brigittedale. Now, I admit, I first noticed these because of their attractive hosts. But what exactly is it that keeps me watching? It’s the delivery, especially with Brigitte Dale. Kind of a dry-ish witty humor to it. I can’t explain it, but I love it. I think the fact that she’s not using a “real” studio is what makes it interesting as well.

But the main point is for some strange reason, I feel compelled to get in front of a video camera. I have no clue what I’d do though, and have seriously been milling over this lately. The same thing happened with making a webpage long ago. Oddly enough, the same ideas keep popping in my head of reviewing stuff. People always ask for my opinion, so why not throw it all out there. Video does a far better job than text for this IMO.

Well, this blog is suppose to be a partial review placeholder… it sorta is? We’ll see if I come up with anything. The random stuff I ponder…

Apple Music Video

So I came across this video… thinking “please don’t be a stupid pro mac/mac bashing video.” I was pleasantly surprised.

The girl, Larkin Clark, isn’t the singer, but she is cute. The song is “Again & Again” by the Bird & the Bee. Catchy, but a little annoying. Either way, this video is damn impressive in my book.

Yes, this is old, but it just occurred to me that I should post it and add a post count for the video to the world wide web.
